The Ask
Our client had walked her dogs past this house every day for over a decade and always admired its charm and character. When she and her partner went on to purchase the home, they wanted to maintain its personality and history while making practical updates through renovations. They also wanted to refresh its quite dated interior.
Upon our initial visit to the home, it was clear we should keep all the beautiful original elements that had existed since the house was built. The hodgepodge of updates that had been added on throughout the years, however, needed to be removed.
The Outcome
Our commitment to highlighting the stunning architecture drove many of our decisions.
We designed a uniquely shaped arch to define the transition from the family room to the kitchen and provide architectural interest. In the end, we successfully modernized this home while preserving and revitalizing its character.
