Cathy Diel began her career in the commercial sector in 1996 and quickly gained experience in the planning and design of retail stores throughout the Southeast. In 2002, she transitioned into residential, opening Diel Design in the celebrated Myers Park area of Charlotte. 

As Cathy’s business flourished, she made the decision to follow her heart (and her grandfather's footsteps) by opening her own furniture store and design showroom. Statement Home, proudly situated on Selwyn Avenue in Myers Park, showcases Cathy’s inherent style and passion for details. The opening of Statement Home marked a major milestone in Cathy’s career journey, as she began building a team of project managers, designers and showroom managers to bolster Diel Design’s growth.

Throughout the past two decades, Cathy has partnered with many of the best manufacturers in the industry to bring the freshest ideas and products directly to her beloved clients. Her design expertise and warm yet confident way of engaging with homeowners have opened doors for her, leading to unique opportunities across the US and abroad. Through it all, one aspect of the interior design process has remained the most rewarding for Cathy: solving functional challenges while creating a beautiful aesthetic designed to serve a specific homeowner. 

Beyond Diel Design and Statement Home, Cathy relishes her roles as a wife, mother to her two sons and owner of two dogs. Her dedication to her clients, family and friends motivates her to be the very best she can be, day after day.
