Transformation Tuesday: The Traditional Entry

Rixham-Entry

Today’s Transformation Tuesday features a restored home’s entry way. Your entry is your home’s first impression, so it is important to incorporate your home’s style and color palette into your space. Our client’s home had a more traditional feel to it, so we used a refined green and antique gold to set the tone for the rest of the house. In order to make the vignette more interesting, we added textured layers and two stools underneath the console. The stools are great because they cozy up the space and allow for extra seating that can be tucked away when you don’t need them.
To make a small space look larger, bigger is always better. We used a custom cut rug to expand the narrow hallway and warm up the floors.
Also, it is important to remember that you don’t have to have a grand foyer to make a grand statement. If you’re wanting to make a big impact, the entry way is a great place to start. A lot of times these spaces are ignored in the redesign process, but don’t forget, you never get a second chance to make a first impression!
