Cathy Diel- Owner/Lead Designer

Cathy's specialty is designing sophisticated spaces with bold contrasts in color and texture. She got her start almost 25 years ago in commercial design creating retail spaces all over the southeast. Her portfolio includes homes and businesses throughout North and South Carolina along with vacation homes scattered all over the southeast. An active member in her community, she served as chairperson for the Charlotte chapter of JDRF- a cause that is very personal to her. What are you most excited about? I am most excited about expanding my firm and being able to share good design with more people!

Lauren Wiley- Lead Project Manager

Lauren is an integral part of the team- her talent in the design process as well as her attention to detail makes her a great fit for the role of Project Manager. On time and on budget is her standard. With experience working as an account and project manager in a dynamic advertising agency, she is accustomed to working with people and dealing with deadlines. Lauren holds a degree in Public Relations from Appalachian State University. What is your favorite part of the job? I love the moment the client sees their finished room- a happy client says it all.

Liz George- Designer

Liz started as an intern with us as she completed her design studies. Most recently she has worked as a project manager and junior designer on the residential side of the business. At Statement Home, Liz brings all of the experience of full design to the showroom as the in-store designer. Liz holds a degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Queens University. What is your favorite part of the job? I love that I get the opportunity to work with more people in a variety of spaces!

Lisa Simpkins- Director of Operations

Lisa is responsible for sourcing and purchasing unique products for the Diel Design brand. She attends tradeshows and markets throughout the year to find and curate a variety of interesting pieces for the showroom. With over 30 years working in manufacturing and design as well as high end retail and franchise development, she has the unique opportunity to share her product knowledge with customers. Lisa holds degrees in Management and Public Relations from Appalachian State University. What are you most excited about? I am excited that I will be able to connect with customers to find out their wants and needs in order to pick better items for the showroom.
